Well now its speculated that jack the ripper was an imigrant so he probably wore more casual clothes than this man, but i saw this suit from the 1850's in a textile exhibit in the Museum of fine arts - and i am strangely attracted to clothes of the era. Most were hoopskirts and womens clothes but they had two examples of mens clothing and this one intrigued me. I did this from memory in about 40 minutes just now because my graffiti class consists of like 3 people today and we just ended early...so i scanned it and decided to throw it on here just for fun
Wow, great cross hatching there! The tones are also really appropriate for the mood. Jack also has a really fitting expression... yeah, he's definetly not sane-looking. The clothes are also well-done. Another fav for you, sir!
And before I forget, how did you make certain parts blurrier than others, and would it be OK if you told me what you used to draw this? I'd be uber happy! But only if you're willing; some people don't like it when I ask this kind of stuff. Well, awesome job, man.
thats because some people are weird! lol i used a mechanical pencil and for the blurry parts, if you just use a standard white plastic eraser or like just the crappy ones that come on the backs of the bic pencils and go really lightly it wont totally erase the pencil (if its layed down thick) it will pick it up and smudge it almost to a washy look the tones were from the paper. i was drawing in a molskine notebook which has an offwhite paper than when scanned has sort of an orangey yellow thing so that if you shove it in photoshop and burn and dodge the orange and yellow tints come out- i do this becasue the paper doesnt scan well it looks rather mute but if you stick it in photoshop to make it lighter it has really nice tones (more how it looks in real life)

`karemelancholia is one of the most genuine deviants you could ever met. Always active and a true deviantART cheerleader and supporter in every aspect. You can always count on her to lend a hand or get involved, and you usually will find her doing large amounts of both at any given moment. She's consistently reports on contests around dA, showcases the efforts of her fellow artists and shows her charitable side through various activities. Besides all of this, she's a truly talented artist which is why she's an obvious choice for deviousness this month. Read More
